When I decided to make this cake for Tucker’s birthday party, I had no idea how easy it would be! I forgot to take pictures of the first few steps, but all I did before that was:

Bake a plain white cake.
Cut off 1/2 inch strips from each side.
Stack them on top of the cake.
I then used Cool Whip to hold the stips on the cake (it worked better than I thought it would)

Here is a picture of the cake after I frosted it with Cool Whip

Then, I made a package of Blazin’ Blue Jello using ice cubes instead of cold water. I made sure that the Jello was pretty thick before I took out the ice cubes. I poured the thickened Jello on top of the cake and put it in the fridge for a few hours.
While I waited, I put together the various toppings for the cake. I ended up not using all of the fruit rollups and I also only put two of the teddy grahams on the cake.
When the Jello was set, I crushed 10 Nilla wafers for the sand

Then I made some “weeds”.

Jelly bean “rocks”

Swedish fish sea creatures

Last, I used blue gel to make clothes for the bears

See! That was pretty easy. The sides even stayed on the entire time. It didn’t turn out exactly like the picture, but it was close enough for me! I used a cutting board covered in aluminum foil as a base for the cake (thanks for the idea Rachel!) which worked really well. Watch out Martha Stewart!
