Weekend Wrapup

Okay, so I know it’s already Tuesday but, I had to share this picture from our Sunday drive. Tucker has a 6th sense when I’m trying to take an innocent picture of the boys playing. He whipped around at the last minute doing this:

Saturday

Seth works on Saturdays, so that means ice cream and shopping for Mama and babies after the house cleaning is done. Of course,  I made sure to send Seth a picture of myself working out in our messy, unfinished basement instead of shopping and eating sweet treats so that he wouldn’t feel too left out.

Because I started my Saturday long run after Seth left for work, it was the boring ol’ mill for me while the boys played Xbox (shhh).

90 minutes with the last 20 at half marathon pace. It was nice to have the treadmill for pacing but I stopped twice for a 30 second walk break. The worst part is that I know I could have done it without stopping, but need to work on my mental game. I set a goal pace of 8:00 for the Equinox Half and then got nervous and started to think that there’s no way I could maintain it for 13.1 miles. The first few miles of the Horsetooth Half this spring were slow and uphill with at least 2 miles over 10:00 and I spent the rest of the race making them up and ended with an 8:29/mile average. I think it’s possible, but I’m a weenie and don’t know if I’ll be able to talk myself out of slowing down when the race gets hard.

Anyway…….

Sunday

One of the hunting seasons (I’ve given up trying to keep them straight) starts in less than 2 weeks. Seth has hunting tags to a different area  this year, so we drove through RMNP to the Hot Sulphur Springs area to scout on Sunday.

We made sure to stop a couple times for some fishing and shenanigans along the way (see Tucker).

We ate at Starbucks, McDonald’s, a gas station, and Burger King. By the end of the day, I felt like a total turd sandwich. Blurg.

And that was our weekend.

I ended July with 76 total miles but my Garmin doesn’t record treadmill miles reliably so it may have been more. For example: it only logged the 3.29 that I ran outside with Ruger on Saturday before I hopped on the treadmill. I didn’t keep track of the miles because my training plan is time based, but there were around 6 more I think so my August mileage will be off.
