We celebrated Leah and Jackson’s birthdays last weekend and let me say this: It was a lot of fun! For Leah’s birthday we went out for Mexican food on Friday night. It was delicious!
The next day was Jackson’s birthday. It was a momentous occasion for him as he finally received the Red Ryder he has been begging for.
After waving it repeatedly in my face, he stored it in the gun safe with Seth’s guns and we headed for kids’ day at Bass Pro.
Papa and NeNe came for the weekend to celebrate the birthdays – and hold Pike’s leash. While Auntie Erin came to cuddle sleeping babies.
B. and Pike are great friends and there was a lot of hugging and sloppy kisses between these two.
Because it was kid’s day there were all sorts of fun activities set up. There was a fishing pond outside stocked with trout who seemed a little more intersted in finding some shade than being caught.
Inside the DNR had a table set up where kids could color a picture and then have it ironed onto a t-shirt.
Uncle Seth tried to scare the girls with a crocodile pillow, but they were pretty cool customers. Not even a flinch.
When the shirts were finished, the kids collected some badges and tattoos on their way to the shooting gallery.
Before leaving, we had supper at the restaurant and the servers even came over to sing for Jackson.
Overall, I think he had a pretty good birthday. However, the next morning I could tell that the boys might have had a little too much fun.
Ooooh looks like someone had a fun birthday. Good luck with that gun, I hope it is a long while before my boy asks for one!
