Movin’, Movin’, Movin’

Ahhhhh…It feels so good to be back. We moved out of our house last week and have been staying with Dale and Collette (Seth’s parents) who (gasp): Do. Not. Have. Internet.
In case you didn’t know, I just started my final year of taking online classes. You kind of need Internet for those. I have been able to sneak over to the dealership once every few days to sign into my classes and participate a little bit, but I haven’t had time to update my blog (which is what I would much rather be doing). Yesterday morning, I was able to mooch a neighbor’s Internet if I set my laptop in a certain spot on the kitchen counter. I got a 1mbps connection which is 0%, but at least I was able to get some stuff done. I even got to check my facebook!
In fact, I am at the dealership right now “working” on some schoolwork. Tucker is hopefully still taking his nap and Jackson is helping NeNe freeze some more raspberries. We have picked nonstop since we moved in and I literally dream every night that I am still picking them.

Other than being even crazier than usual, the boys are handling this transition well. In light of how they’re acting I am getting more and more nervous about how they will handle our move to Colorado when they are away from Papa and NeNe and I am no longer home with them every day.

As you can tell from this picture, Tucker has already begun to display his tough side in an effort to deal with the turmoil in his life while Jackson constantly scans the sky for flying geese.

Oh dear.

Fourth of July Weekend

Dale and Collette came over on the Fourth and we lit off some fireworks for the boys. They were ecstatic! Although they were lame Minnesota firecrackers, that didn’t seem to bother Jackson and Tucker. Nic and Remy came over later to take us on a pontoon ride. Rachel had to work, so I got to hog R. the whole time!
He wasn’t too excited about the camo hat that I brought along for him; I think it only stayed on long enough for this picture.

R. was a little more interested in driving the pontoon than wearing a silly little hat.

Yesterday Seth and the boys set all of the goose and duck decoys up in the backyard so they could be washed before we move. I didn’t even try to count them. Although this picture only shows a few decoys they were literally covering our backyard. To put this into perspective, our lot is an acre and a half and it was covered with decoys.
I promptly forced Seth to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic.

Cousin Tony stopped by on his way home to Illinois, but I forgot to get a picture, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Jackson was very excited when he saw Tony. The first thing he said to him was “Cousin Tony, do you want to try a little English?” (Long story).
Afterall of the decoyswere washed, my brother David came over and we all drove out to the lake. Tucker fell asleep on the way, but when he woke up the first person he ran to was Uncle Rick. Rick was always my favorite uncle too, but don’t tell anyone.

Rick and Coleen brought us out for a boat ride around the lake and when we got back, Aunt Julie made Jackson his very firstsmore. He savored every bite! Jackson also spent most of the time forcing Abu to give him rides in the paddle boat. We decided that Abu should have a more middle eastern sounding last name thanAsche, so Coleen dubbed him AbuAschmed. It wouldn’t have been the same if he couldn’t keep the “sch”. 🙂

We had fun – thanks for letting us hang out with you guys!
