Eating on the couch

We had a family movie night during Christmas break and let the boys eat their supper on the couch. It was plain noodles with some butter and Parmesan which they love. I also love it because, without sauce, the noodles aren’t too messy so they make perfect couch food.
Jackson was so excited to eat on the couch that he didn’t get up at all until he was finished with his second helping. That is a recordable event in our house!
In other news, it was -10 when I ran past the bank at 6:40 this morning. Brrrr! And I thought yesterday was cold! I wore two pairs of pants and borrowed a camouflage neck warmer and gloves from Seth for my run which was a huge improvement over yesterday!

Day One

This morning, I began the first day of my marathon training plan. The plan I’m following is from “Train Like A Mother” by Dimity McDowell and Sarah Bowen Shea. Since this is my first marathon, I’m not going to try to run fast – I’ll just be happy to finish! My pace lately has been just under 9 minutes/mile but it was over 10 this morning. The 4 strides at the end made it look like my pace was faster, but not by much. The temperature was one degree above zero when I ran past the bank so that may have had more than a little to do with my slowness. I kept telling myself that if I ran faster, I could get home and into a hot shower faster but my legs weren’t listening.

Work provides free exercise classes Monday-Thursday and a friend is teaching the Zumba class on Monday’s so I also went to that. It was a fun workout, but definitely showcased my extreme lack of coordination!
