Everyone was still sleeping when I got home and Ruger was more than happy to join them. He is a non-stop running machine until he gets in the house and then he’s suddenly a limp noodle.

Both boys and Ruger end up sleeping with us by morning and, as you can see, they take up so much room that Seth and I end up hanging over the edge of the bed and battling them for some covers. But, they’re just so sweet and cuddly at night, that I don’t really mind. In no time at all, they probably won’t want anything to do with nerdy old mom so I’m going to smother them as much as possible until then.

Race Pace

My run yesterday was supposed to be a total of 4 miles with the last two at my goal race pace. I didn’t realize until I was heading out on my run that I really have no idea what my goal race pace should be, but figured anything under 9 min/mile would be acceptable. Mile 4 ended up being a little slower than mile 3. There was a point where I had to leave the street and run on the sidewalk in an older section of town and I think navigating the broken, heaving sidewalk slowed me down a little. I tried to keep my pace up as much as possible without falling flat on my face though.
