Jackson and Tucker recently discovered the wonders of the movie Toy Story. Not only are they obsessed with Woody and Buzz, they think they are Woody and Buzz. I’m sure the neighbors below us cringe every time they hear “To infinity and beyond!” as they wait for the ensuing thud as a little boy jumps off the couch, bed, or counter top. After landing, one of them will yell, “That wasn’t flying, that was falling with style” as the other one yells, “Come on, you want a piece of beat?”
That’s right.
They say “piece of beat” instead of “piece of me”.
Right before tumbling to the floor in a tangle of punching, clawing, and flailing limbs as I try in vain to separate them or keep them from climbing on the furniture.
Jackson has recently outgrown his tennis shoes. When Papa and NeNe were here last week, NeNe offered to buy him a new pair so that he wouldn’t have to wear his camouflage crocs or church shoes everywhere.
Long story short, he found these:
Buzz and Woody light up when he walks and one of the boots even has the name “Andy” inscribed on the bottom.
I often catch him imitating the part in Toy Story 2 where Woody wipes the new paint off the bottom of his boot.
It’s pretty cute.
Tucker went nuts in the store when he saw the boots and had to try them on too. When Jackson walked out with a pair and Tucker didn’t I could tell that he was disappointed, but he didn’t say anything. He never tried to steal the boots although he did ask to borrow them several times and he stared at them constantly.
Papa noticed too, so the night before they left for home he and NeNe had Auntie Erin pick up a pair in Tucker’s size while she was out shopping.
The moment that he spotted those boots was priceless.
Yes, they also say “Andy” on the bottom.
AWWW, that is so sweet! I can only imagine how excited Tucker must have been!!!
Too cute!
so sweet!
Toy Story is one of the best movies ever, my boy (now 12) loved Buzz when he was a little boy, and he used to tell me back then “I love you…to infinity and beyond”, so cute!
Awww, this is so sweet! Stumbled upon your blog whilst doing a google search for some Woody/Jessie-esque boots. “You want a piece of beat?” is one of the cutest things I’ve ever heard. I’m fifteen and have been a massive Toy Story fan for years now (i wear a Buzz Lightyear hoodie with pride), and it makes me beyond happy to see the the spirit is still alive, and that with all of the technology and distractions of today, there are still Andys in the world.
