Seth has been on vacation since Thursday and we are having a blast! We were originally planning to go to South Dakota with his family, but decided to stay around here and relax instead. Also, it was our niece’s 1st birthday party on Saturday so we wanted to be around here to help her celebrate. We started our vacation by meeting Rachel, Nic, and R. for some fishing at Orwell. Disclaimer: Seth picked out his own wardrobe
Rachel caught the first fish of the night.

As you can see R. was less than impressed with his mother’s fishing abilities.

Tucker spent the entire time sleeping in his sling.

The next day, we went to Spitzer and caught 9Northerns and 2 Sunfish.

Tucker was all about the stylish eyewear.

On Saturday we stopped at Cabela’s on our way to the party.
We saw the fish

and ate some cheese curds and sampled some fudge and bought some fudge and ate a lot of fudge…

We finally made it to the party and Jackson made a beeline for the cake; intent on getting a taste of the frosting. Fortunately, the part he ended up getting was on the back of the cake where it was less noticeable.

The boys made themselves right at home and took over the Wii for some extreme cow racing.

G. had her very own little cake made by Grandma Wendy.

She literally attacked that little cake!

She did stop long enough to offer Tina a bite.

We tried to take a picture of Mom with all of her grandkids and this was the best one that I was able to get. If you squint and turn your head to the side G. looks like Mom’sMiniMe.

On Sunday, we were back at Spitzer for some more fishing. We drove right up to a sleeping loon and I was able to get some pictures of him waking up.

Jackson caught atiny little Northern while we were fishing. After we let it go he informed me that, “the little fish is going home and his mommy is going to make him a grilled cheese sandwich”.

Today we went on the river above Orwell for some more fishing.

Jackson decided to try his fishing luck using a tiny stick instead of the traditional rod andreel. He actually caught a lot of big fish. They were hard to see, but he put in a great effort reeling them in.

I didn’t have any luck, but Seth was able to catch some supper…with Jackson’s help, of course!
